I'm Tilly [well that's a nick name, but it will do for now]; I work with light and teach people to use optical microscopes. If you ask me my favourite colour and I'm feeling geeky I might answer in nanometers. Sometimes I work with 'evanescent waves'; evanescent waves decay exponentially, they 'tend to vanish'. Outside of work I like to create both messes and things; I tend towards introversion and melancholy, I've surprised even myself with the desire to write this blog.
At the age of forty one I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, clear-cell carcinoma; so for now cancer has hijacked both my life and this blog.
